ONE-YEAR-OLD Carlos Ernesto Martinez carries a basket full of 15 colored eggs he collected Saturday at an Easter egg hunt at Carver Park. His father said he wasn't sure if he would understand the concept of finding the eggs and putting them in the basket. But he said he found 15 of them and put them in the basket himself. He also won a prize from a plastic egg he found. Children from Carlos' age to 11 years old came out to the annual event to get in the Easter spirit and fellowship with each other. About 1,300 eggs were donated by the Yuma Community Food bank, while Albertsons, Frys and Wal-Mart donated a few hundred more eggs and other items. The event was coordinated and organized by American Legion Post No. 56, the local Kiwanis Club and a number of area residents. --photo by Jacob Lopez
