A three-way Gila Valley Region wrestling showdown last week in San Luis got off to a messy start when, in the first match of the afternoon, Kofa's 114-pounder, Mikey Arce, took an unintentional elbow to the head from his opponent, Gila Ridge's Alex Jordan. Arce sat on the edge of the mat for a time as school personnel tended to his wound, then resumed action with a large bandage on his head. Arce would then go on to win by decision, 6-2.
