Luke Muthart
Luke Muthart's service as head technical coordinator for the music department at Yuma Catholic High School earned him a nomination for the career-technical award.
Muthart says he enjoys the "flexibility and creativity, also the position of authority" offered by this type of work.
Craig Koenigs, director of the school's media center, wrote in a nomination letter for Muthart that he "has been an outstanding example of self-initiative and personal responsibility for everyone who comes in contact with him. ... he has consistently grown both as an individual and as part of the Yuma Catholic community."
The son of Paul and Jane Muthart, he helps set up for Mass, helps with audiovisual equipment during special events and plays electric bass.
Muthart plans to attend the University of Arizona and study mechanical engineering.
